RatesQ collects the minimum information necessary to operate the marketplace. We do not collect Social Security Numbers, tax returns, credit reports, or complete loan applications. You may choose to upload a Loan Estimate for Offer Compare. We share your information only as described in this policy and never sell your data for unrelated commercial purposes.

Introduction
RatesQ LLC ("RatesQ," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use the RatesQ website, platform, and related services. By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account registration information (name, email address, password)
- Mortgage quote request information (loan purpose, loan amount range, property type, estimated credit range, location, income range)
- Communication content (messages between borrowers and mortgage professionals through the platform)
- Support requests and correspondence
- Profile information and preferences
- Payment information for partner subscriptions (processed securely by Stripe; RatesQ does not store full card numbers)
Information Collected Automatically
- IP address and device identifiers
- Browser type, operating system, and device type
- Pages viewed, links clicked, and time spent on pages
- Referring URLs and search terms used to reach the Platform
- Cookie and tracking data (see our Cookie Policy)
Offer Compare Documents
You may optionally upload a Loan Estimate to compare your own offers. Documents may contain names, property addresses and loan identifiers. Remove Social Security and financial account numbers before uploading; do not upload full loan applications.
Cloudmersive processes uploaded files to check for malware. Where AI reading is enabled, Anthropic processes uploaded Loan Estimates and lender worksheets as a service provider to identify financial terms and fees. Where AI explanations are enabled, Anthropic receives limited comparison figures and findings to help explain them, rather than the uploaded files. Files are stored privately, separately from marketplace uploads. We do not send these documents or their contents to analytics or advertisers.
Anonymous comparison drafts and uploads expire after 24 hours and are scheduled for automatic deletion. Account uploads expire 365 days after their original upload, or are scheduled for deletion sooner when you delete them. Saved comparison records are kept until you delete them or request deletion. In My Comparisons you can delete individual comparisons and their files, or delete all your Offer Compare data. You can also request deletion through our Support page. Anonymous drafts and documents are linked to an essential 24-hour ownership cookie. Saved records and file downloads require account ownership; they are not public links.

Sensitive Data We Never Collect
RatesQ does not collect Social Security Numbers, tax returns, full bank account numbers, credit reports, W-2 forms, pay stubs, or complete loan application documents through the Platform. Do not submit these documents through RatesQ. Any complete mortgage application must be submitted directly to a licensed lender or broker outside the Platform.

- To operate and improve the Platform and its features
- To facilitate connections between borrowers and mortgage professionals
- To send transactional communications (account confirmations, quote notifications, support responses)
- To send marketing communications where you have consented or where permitted by law
- To process partner subscription payments
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce these Terms
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unlawful activity
- To analyze Platform usage and improve our services
- To display advertising on the Platform without selling or sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising

Virginia residents have rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of the processing of personal data for targeted advertising.

Colorado residents have rights similar to Virginia under the Colorado Privacy Act.
Texas (TDPSA)
Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act.

Data Security
RatesQ uses industry-standard technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include encryption in transit (TLS), secure data storage, access controls, and periodic security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Platform at your own risk.
Data Retention
RatesQ retains your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a commercially reasonable time, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete it.

- Access and Correction: You may access and update your account information through your profile settings or by contacting support.
- Marketing Opt-Out: You may opt out of marketing emails by clicking "unsubscribe" in any marketing email or by adjusting your email preferences in account settings.
